Chelsea utility man Geremi is expected to become Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce's fourth summer signing later today.
The 28-year-old Cameroon international is understood to have agreed a three-year deal to secure a £2million switch to St James' Park. He will follow Mark Viduka, Joey Barton and David Rozehnal to Tyneside as Allardyce moves swiftly to rebuild the squad he inherited from Glenn Roeder. Also on the cards for 'Big Sam' is Eider Gudjohnsen from Barcelona for £4.5m. Now whether or not that particular (or peculiar!) move happens is open to speculation.
Finally Owen hargreaves move to Man Utd is fact! What was probably the worst kept secret in football has actually transpired to reality. Tha Canadian-German-Englishman has taken on a £70,000 job at the Theatre 0f Dreams much to the chagrin Of Michael Carrick who has reportedly said; " I welcome the fight for places." Tosh! Nobody, doesn't matter who you are does not welcome competition from a player of Hargreave's talent. Let's wait and see.
Elsewhere Jerzy Dudek has been released on a free transfer just two years after his heroics helped the Liverpool Reds win the Champions League. I've heard it said that Sammy Lee at Bolton is desperate to sign him, who cares? Bolton are desperate to sign anybody at the moment! Thats all for today as I am ignoring the 'Lampard loves-does not love-Chelsea' saga.
